What initially attracted you to join Performance, and how has your perception of it evolved over the past 20+ years?
Initially, the innovative vision of our founder Tim Bigelow and the potential for growth at Performance Software attracted me. Over the past two decades, witnessing the company transform from a startup to a significant industry player has been remarkable. My perception has evolved from seeing it as a place of opportunity to a community where growth and leadership are fostered.
What roles have you held at Performance?
During my tenure with the company, I have held several positions, including General Manager (GM), Technical Manager, Program Manager, Program Director, HR Director, Engineering Director, and New Business Growth Leader. Today, I serve as a Customer Success Leader, managing the projects of one of our largest clients and chasing new opportunities, and an Advanced Air Mobility Leader, leveraging my extensive experience to introduce our engineering services and products to the emerging eVTOL industry.
Reflecting on your journey with us, what are some key milestones or memorable moments that stand out to you?
Key milestones include winning our first seven-figure Flightdeck Datalink contract, spearheading hiring of a Flight Management System (FMS) expert to expand our FMS skillset offering, and opening new office sites, especially the one in my home state of Louisiana. My proudest moments are selecting new hires and watching them evolve into our current leaders, as well as seeing second-generation family members join the Performance Software family.
Can you share some lessons or insights you’ve gained from your experiences here over the past 20+ years?
One key lesson is the importance of adaptability and continuous learning. Industry and technology are constantly evolving, and staying ahead requires a commitment to personal and professional growth. Additionally, fostering a strong company culture and nurturing talent are crucial for long-term success.
What aspects of your role do you find most fulfilling?
The most fulfilling aspect of my role is witnessing the growth and development of our team members. Seeing individuals that I’ve hired or mentored rise to leadership positions and contribute significantly to the company’s success is gratifying. Additionally, I enjoy seeing the satisfaction of newly nurtured customers who have selected Performance Software to resolve their program challenges successfully
What advice would you offer to new employees based on your extensive experience and knowledge of our company?
Embrace every opportunity to learn and grow. Be proactive in seeking out new challenges and don’t be afraid to take on roles that stretch your capabilities. Building strong relationships and being a team player will also greatly enhance your career progression.
Looking ahead, what are your aspirations or goals for the future, both personally and professionally?
Professionally, I aim to continue contributing to the company’s growth and success, focusing on expanding our market presence and enhancing our service offerings. Personally, I look forward to another growth expansion and mentoring the next generation of leaders and ensuring a legacy of excellence and innovation.
Finally, what does reaching this milestone mean to you, and how do you plan to celebrate this achievement?
Reaching this milestone is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and resilience over the years. It’s a moment of pride and reflection on the journey thus far. I plan to celebrate by acknowledging the contributions of my colleagues and team members, as their support has been instrumental in reaching this point. A gathering with close family, friends, and colleagues to commemorate this achievement would be a meaningful way to celebrate doing a Performance Software infamous Pub Crawl.
