The Federal Aviation Administration has issued a Type 1 Letter of Acceptance to Performance Software Corporation (PSW) for its Airport Mapping Database product.
In a letter dated April 29th, 2014, the FAA’s Los Angeles Aircraft Certification Office acknowledged PSW’s compliance with AC 20-153A and RTCA/DO-200A with regards to its processing of airport mapping data. The acceptance is a result of a formal FAA audit reviewing Performance Software’s written quality management procedures describing its development of Airport Map Database (AMDB) products.
PSW’s AMDB product targets avionics integrators with FAA Type 2 LOAs and enables them to take advantage of established distribution and revenue channels to deliver airport maps for improved on-ground situational awareness. The receipt of this Letter of Acceptance from the FAA marks a significant milestone in Performance Software’s plans to expand its footprint in the GIS market with additional mapping products.
